Hatch Chile Store Promo Codes for October 2026

Is Hatch Chile Store Worth It? Our Take

Short version: for real Hatch Valley chile, yes, and the price per pound depends almost entirely on how much work you want to do yourself and how much freezer space you have.

When we checked on September 30, 2026, fresh green chile, sold only in season from late July into October, cost $39.99 for 5 lb, $59.99 for 10 lb and $84.99 for 25 lb. That is $8.00, $6.00 and $3.40 a pound, but you roast and peel it yourself. Roasted frozen chile, already fire roasted and vacuum sealed, is $85 for a 5 lb box of five 1 lb bags, or $17 a pound. Frozen items get up to 30% off at checkout on any combination, so four $85 frozen items come to $238 instead of $340; if all four are boxes of roasted chile, that is about $11.90 a pound.

Worth it if: you cook with green chile every week, you have room in the freezer, or you are willing to spend an afternoon roasting a 25 lb case while the season lasts.

Think twice if: you only want chile for a recipe or two. A $11.95 jar of roasted green chile is the simpler buy, since the frozen boxes are sold 5 lb at a time.

One practical catch before checkout: food cannot be returned, and items from different categories ship separately, so a cart that mixes fresh and frozen chile arrives in more than one box. Some fresh heat levels, such as Mild, were already sold out when we checked.
